Women's Basketball splits games on road trip

The Viterbo Women's Basketball team (11-8) went 1-1 on the weekend in a pair of NSAA road games at Dickinson State and Valley City State. The V-Hawks dropped their game against the Dickinson State Blue Hawks, 54-72, before getting back into the win column against the Valley City State Vikings, 93-75.

Kaitlyn Kennedy carried the V-Hawks on Friday night versus the Blue Hawks, putting up 20 points and making six of nine field goal attempts. As a team, the V-Hawks shot 28.1% from the field and 27.3% from beyond the arc.  

Viterbo flipped the switch on Saturday, improving their shooting to 62.2% from the field and 58.8% from three. The V-Hawks brought a much more balanced attack to face the Vikings, with four V-Hawks scoring double-digits. Ellie Hoesley led the way, scoring 17 points and grabbing seven rebounds. Kacie Gross put up 14 points, followed by Chyna Young and Brook Becker with 13 and 12 points, respectively. The V-Hawks' 93 points ties their season high score, previously set on November 12 versus Florida National University. 

The V-Hawks will return home on Wednesday to face non-conference opponent, Iowa Wesleyan. Tipoff is scheduled for 5:30 PM CST. Follow the action on our website or by following us on social media.
