LA CROSSE, Wis. – The Viterbo University Softball split in a double header with St. Francis University Wednesday afternoon. The V-hawks rise to 9-23 (CCAC 5-9) while the Fighting Saints sit at 18016 (CCAC 13-4).

The V-Hawks held strong until a two run homer in the sixth inning for the Saints would take game one.
Morghan Fuhrer pitched the full seven inning on the mound with three strikeouts, six let up hits, and two runs over 27 batters.
Viterbo 6, St. Francis 5
With a runs in both the first and second innings the V-Hawks would hold a lead until the Saints would have a five run inning, holding the V-Hawks to two until a huge seventh inning with a three run homer and another homer to take the win.
On the mound, Alexis Watson would pitch the first three innings with two strikeouts, letting up nine hits and five runs. Ava Keicher would claim the win in relief with only a single hit allowed over three innings and 14 batters.
Watson would lead in game two with the three run home run, clinching three RBIs, following with a single run homer, Marissa Carter-Olson would give the winning run. In the field Natalie Martin would help turn a double play.
The V-Hawks are back in action Saturday April 26 to take on Calumet College.
