Cougars Pounce on V-Hawks

CHICAGO, Ill. – The Viterbo University Softball team fell in a double header at Saint Xavier Saturday afternoon. The V-Hawks fall to 7-19 (CCAC 4-6) while the Cougars rise to 26-6 (CCAC 9-0).

Viterbo 1, Saint Xavier 12

The Cougars had a knockout first inning over the V-Hawks with six runs, continuing to score in the second, third, and fourth innings. Though the V-Hawks would attempt a fifth inning rally that would fall short.

Starting on the mound, Alexis Watson would strikeout a single batter, letting up six hits and nine runs. Ava Keicher would come in relief, striking out two batters, five hits and three runs.

At the plate Makayla Nortman would lead with a double and an RBI.

Viterbo 0, Saint Xavier 8

The V-Hawks would fall behind in the first for five runs followed by another three in the third inning ending the scoring for the game.

Morgan Fuhrer would open the game on the mound facing 1 batters. In relief Mia Weithaus would let up an additional two hits over seven batters.

The V-Hawks are back in action Sunday, April 13^th at Indiana South Bend for a conference double header.
