Viterbo Suffers a Pair of Setbacks

TUSCON, Ariz. – The Viterbo University Softball team were outplayed by Mayville State University 8-4 and RV Dickinson State University 15-3 Thursday. The V-Hawks sink to 1-11 on the season.

The Comets came out strong in the first inning scoring three runs, the V-Hawks making the attempt to come back in the bottom of the seventh fell short after Makayla Madrid would hit for a single sending two runners in.
Alexis Watson starting on the mound for the V-Hawks would strike out a single batter, allowing three hits and six runs for the loss. In relief Emily Roberts woud pitch the final four innings allowing two runs across three hits.
At the plate Madrid would collect three RBIs including a double as well as Makella Jacobs would also smash a double and take an RBI.
The V-Hawks are back in action Friday March 14 for their final spring training games.
