TUSCON, Ariz. – The Viterbo University Softball team were outplayed on Monday in matchups with Concordia University (Neb.) 11-3 and Park University-Gilbert 1-8. The V-Hawks sink to 1-7 on the season.
Viterbo 3, Concordia 11
The Bulldogs with a strong fourth inning would be in the lead until tge V-Hawks would score off a double by Makalya Madrid though the Bulldogs kept the pace with three more runs in the fifth inning.
Morgan Fuhrer opened the game on the mound allowing five runs and five hits, across 15 batters taking the loss. In relief Ava Keicher and Madyson Schultz would finish off the game, Schultz stricking out two batters and letting up two hits.
Madrid would claim three RBIs off a double in the fourth, Marissa Carter Olson also hitting for a double.
Viterbo 1, Park-Gilbert 8
The V-Hawks starting down 0-5 after a strong first inning by the Pirates, Schultz would send Alina Garstka in to get on the board.
Starting at the pitch Julie Woodman would let up one hit and three errors for the loss, Alexis Watson finishing off the game in relief with three strikeouts and three hits.
At the plate Watson would hit for two triples and Schultz would take a double and an RBI.
The V-Hawks are back in action March 11 to face Salve Regina.
