Six V-Hawks Earn All-Conference Accolades

BISMARK, ND. – The North Star Athletic Association has released its 2024 All-Conference Softball teams, and six V-Hawks have been honored by the league.

Morgan James, Sr, Mineral Point, Wis.: Second Team – James makes her third career all-conference appearance this year, following a season where she recorded 42 hits (12th in NSAA), nine doubles (T-8 in NSAA), and three homeruns to go with 26 RBIs (10th in NSAA). She led the V-Hawks batting .416 on the year, a .594 slugging % and posted a fielding percentage of .970.

Megan Jardine, So, West Valley City, Utah: Second-Team – Jardine leads the V-Hawks with 52 hits (4th in NSAA), and added 24 RBIS (14th in NSAA). She has also tied the single season Viterbo record of four triples (T-1 in NSAA). She holds a batting average of .323 (14th in NSAA), and scored 25 runs.

Makayla Nortman, So, Black River Falls, Wis.: Second Team, Gold Glove OF-  Nortman is second on the team with 48 hits (6th in NSAA), including nine doubles (T-8 in NSAA). She has batted in 14 runs, score a team high 28 of her own (6th in NSAA), and has accounted for nearly half of the teams steals with 20 (3rd in NSAA). Her batting average was 17th in the NSAA at .310.

In the outfield, she totaled 72 put outs and nine assists, with a fielding percentage of .976, and turned a double play.

Marissa Carter-Olson, So, Oshkosh, Wis.: Second-Team – Carter-Olson makes her second straight All-Conference appearance. She led the squad with four homeruns (T-8 in NSAA) and 11 doubles (2nd in NSAA), and recorded a total of 36 hits. She had 30 RBIs (5th in NSAA) and scored 11 runs. She posted 176 put outs (7th in NSAA) on a .979 fielding %.

Courtney Denton, So, Menifee, Calif.: Gold Glove (2B) – Denton was selected as the top defensive 2nd baseman as she recorded 73 put outs and 82 assists while turning four double plays. Additionally she set the Viterbo single season record for walks at 26 (2nd in NSAA).

Kate Olsen, Fr, Reno, Nev.: Champion of Character – Olsen was named Champion of Character for embodying the NAIA's five core values of integrity, respect, responsibility, sportsmanship and servant leadership both on and off the field.

The NSAA Conference Tournament begins tomorrow, May 3.
