V-Hawks Fall to Bruins on the Road

BELLEVUE, Neb. – The Viterbo University Softball team suffered pair of NSAA losses at the hands of Bellevue University (Neb.), 0-5 and 9-2. The V-Hawks fall to 9-32 (5-13 NSAA), while the Bruins improve to 17-16 (16-2 NSAA).

Megan Jardine would single in the too of the first, and Makayla Nortman added one in the third, but The Bruins would be the first on the board with an RBI single in the bottom of the frame. BU added a solo homerun in the fifth and three more runs on five hits in the sixth.

Jardine had two hits for the V-Hawks, while three Bruins had multiple hits. Alexis Watson (L, 5-13) recorded the loss, while Savannah Gunn (W, 9-5) posted the win.

In the second game, both teams posted hits in each of the first three innings, with Bellevue scoring first in the third, with two runs on a hit and an error. Viterbo responded with an Amanda Bogdonovich RBI single, and Kate Olsen RBI single. However, BU took a commanding lead in the fourth with six runs on six hits. They added to the lead with an RBI grounder in the fifth, and despite three baserunners reaching for the V-Hawks, none would score.

Nortman had three hits for the V-Hawks, and Bogdonovich added two. Atiana Rodriguez had four hits for the Bruins. Emily Roberts (L, 1-7) recorded the loss, while Katie Cunningham (W, 15-6) earned the win with six K's.

The V-Hawks continue their series tomorrow, April 21 at 12 PM.
