FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Viterbo Softball team traveled to Indiana this weekend to play a double-header against Indiana Tech. The V-Hawks fell 9-1 in five innings in game one before dropping game two 9-2 in seven innings.
In game one, the Warriors were able to score in four of the five innings, keeping the pressure on the V-Hawks. Haleigh Zanoni left her mark on the game, however, hitting the second homer this season for Viterbo in the fifth inning.
The Warriors came out swinging the bats again in game two, scoring in all but second inning. Zanoni came through again late for the V-Hawks, sending her second home run of the season out of the ballpark in the fifth inning again, this time a two-run shot.
The Viterbo Softball team will travel to Tuscon, Ariz. on Sunday to begin their annual "Spring Training" games. The V-Hawks will play eight games over five days while in Tuscon. Follow the action on our website or by following us on social media.
