V-Hawks Offense Struggles in Weekend Series

LA CROSSE, Wis. – The Viterbo University Women's Softball team (5-27) faced a tough opponent over the weekend in (RV) Valley City State University (21-5). The V-Hawks were shut out in all four games behind solid Viking pitching. Four seniors were honored before the games on Sunday- Caitlin Brown (SR/Lake in the Hills, Ill.), Caitlyn Almberg (SR/Coon Rapids, MN), Kendyl Schine (SR/Kenosha, Wis.), and Brooklyn Ottelien (SR/Racine, Wis.).

Valley City pitching held the V-Hawks to only four hits total in the four-game series. Amanda Bogdonovich (FR/Loyal, Wis.) pitched 13.2 innings over the weekend, including a complete seven innings in game one on Sunday. Janelle Ulaszek (JR/Bartlett, Ill.) pitched 6.1 innings and Jacky Mathews (JR/Plainfield, Ill.) also pitched two innings.

The V-Hawks will be back at home on Wednesday against Waldorf University (7-21). First pitch is scheduled for 3:00 PM CST. Follow the action on our website or by following us on social media.
