V-Hawks Run at Jim Drew Invitational

LA CROSSE, Wis. – The Viterbo University Men's Cross Country team competed at the UW-La Crosse Jim Drews Invitational on Saturday morning, scoring 671 team points, placing 22nd out of 27 teams.

UW-La Crosse claimed the team title with 32 teams points, and five runners in the top-10. Mohammed Bati from Augsburg University (Minn.) was the individual champion with a time of 24:44.3.

Connor Birdsong was the top performer for the V-Hawks, taking 39th out of 368 total runners, with a time of 26:30.6. Garrett Eick and Ben Fleuchaus finished close to each other, scoring 144 (29:30.0) and 147 (29:40.4), respectively. Andrew Kaja finished in 31:08.6, scoring 163, and Bryce Ertmann was the final V-Hawk to run, scoring 178 with a mark of 34:11.1.

The V-Hawks return to action on Saturday, October 21 at the NAIA Stampede, hosted by Mount Mercy University (Iowa.)
