Viterbo Takes Fourth in Preseason Poll

BISMARK, N.D. – The North Star Athletic Association (NSAA) officially released its 2023 Men's Cross Country Preseason Coaches Poll on Tuesday, and Viterbo University has been picked to finish fourth, with 17 points.

Dakota State (S.D.) was unanimously picked to win the league title, after winning the conference meet last year for the fifth year in a row, setting a record score of 19.

Dickinson State (N.D.) secured second place in the preseason poll after registering 29 points, followed by Bellevue (Neb.) with 25 points. Viterbo finished fourth with 17 points, while Valley City State (N.D.) was fifth with 13 points. Waldorf (Iowa) placed sixth after scoring six points.

The V-Hawks are also set to host the conference meet this year on Friday, Nov. 3, held at Maple Groves Venues in West Salem, Wis.

VU's top performers include Garrett Eick, who took 17th at the conference meet last year, and Evan David (21st place). The V-Hawks are led by first-year head coach Marcia Taddy.
