V-Hawks Compete at the Jim Drews Invitational
WEST SALEM, Wis. - The Viterbo University Men's Cross Country team ran at the 41st Annual Jim Drews Invitational on Saturday hosted by University of Wisconsin - La Crosse. The V-Hawks placed 26th of 28 total teams and ended with a total of 773 points. UW-La Crosse claimed their 11th Drews title with 42 points, and Iowa Central's Aspel Kiprob was the individual champion with a time of 24:25.9. A total of 424 runners competed in the race.
Freshman Cameron La Mere finished first for Viterbo and 150th overall with a time of 27:17.5. Garrett Eick wasn't far behind finishing in 169th place witha time of 27:33.4. Ben Fleuchaus finished with a time of 28:33.6 putting him in 256th, and Evan David placed 371st with a time of 30:46.0. Andrew Kaja came in fifth for viterbo and placed 392nd overall with a time of 31:40.4, while Bryce Ertman finished 398th with a time of 31:52.6. Tanner Groshek was the final runner for Viterbo and placed 416th overall with a time of 34:01.9.
The V-Hawks finished with a total time of 2:25:51, an average of 29:11, and a spread of 4:22:9.
The team will compete at the City Wells Invitational on Friday, October 21 at 4:45PM CST.
