V-Hawks Finish Fourth at UW-Platteville; La Mere Top Five

CUBA CITY, Wis. – The Viterbo University Men's Cross Country team finished fourth out of seven teams at the UW-Platteville Gender Equity Invitational on Saturday. The V-Hawks scored a total of 133 points, which was one ahead of fifth place Hamline University (Minn.), and University of Dubuque was ahead of Viterbo in third place with 94 points. UW-Platteville won the event with 21 points, and Ripon College was second with 41 points. Logan Bell of UW-Platteville was the individual champion with a time of 26:25.5.

Freshman Cameron La Mere was the top Viterbo finisher, coming in fourth place with a time of 26:40.2. Evan David's time of 28:29.2 was good for 28th, just ahead of teammate Garrett Eick in 29th (28:59.3) and fellow V-Hawk Ben Fleuchaus in 31st (29:10.7). Andrew Kaja was the final Viterbo competitor, coming in 41st with a time of 33:51.2.

Viterbo had a team toal of 147:20.6 with an average of 29:28.2 and a spread of 7:11.9.

Viterbo returns to action Saturday, October 8 at the NAIA Seminole Valley Stampede.
