V-Hawks Compete at All-American Invite; La Mere Finished Top Ten

DECORAH, Iowa – The Viterbo University Men's Cross Country opened their 2022 season at the Luther All-American Invite on Saturday. The V-Hawks finished in seventh out of eight team with a team score of 172. Luther (Iowa) captured the team title with 30 points, while Aspel Kiprob of Iowa Central CC was the individual champion at 22:55.9.

Cameron La Mere was the top performer for the V-Hawks, coming in ninth with a time of 22:22.5. The next Viterbo finisher was Evan David, in 44th with a time of 24:00.2. Garrett Eick and Ben Fleuchaus were behind him at 24:20.4 (52nd) and 24:28.6 (54th) respectively. Andrew Kaja finished 77th at 26:25.7 and Bryce Ertman was the final V-Hawk finishing a second below 29 minutes.

Viterbo's runners had a total time of 2:01:38, an average of 24:20 and a spread of 4:03.2.

The V-Hawks return to action Saturday, September 24 at the Pioneer Gender Equity Invitational.
