Ingold finishes as individual conference champion, makes program history

OMAHA, Neb. - The Viterbo University Men's Cross Country team ran at the North Star Athletic Association (NSAA) Conference Championship on Friday, hosted by Bellevue. As a team, Viterbo finished in 4th place out of six teams.

Drake Ingold claimed the individual championship after finishing first out of 47 total runners with a time of 27:57.34. The second-place runner finished over 30 seconds behind Ingold. This is Viterbo Men's Cross Country first-ever NSAA individual conference championship title. The first-place finish gives Ingold an automatic bid to nationals. This is the third consecutive time Ingold has qualified for nationals as an individual, another program first. 

Viterbo's next top finishers were Sawyer Morgan, who finished in 17th place, and Evan David, who was right behind him in 18th place. Benjamin Fleuchaus was the teams' Champion of Character recipient.

The NAIA National Cross Country Championships will take place on Friday, November 19 at the Fort Vancouver National Historic Site in Vancouver, Washington. The men's race will take place at 10:30 a.m. CST. Follow the action on viterboathletics.com or by following us on social media.
