V-Hawks Finish Season in Five Set Thriller

BOURBONNAIS, Ill. - The Viterbo University Men's Volleyball team finished their season in semi finals of the CCAC conference tournament with a loss to Olivet Nazarene University 3-2 (25-21, 25-16, 25-22, 25-17, 15-4). The V-Hawks finish their season 6-30, while the Tigers rise to 15-12.

Ethan Davis starting off strong with an early kill from Logan Amdur to open the game 2-2. Carrying key assists Amdur would seek out Riley Connors, Davis, and Justin Kratzenstein. Smashing a kill Kratzenstein would keep the V-Hawks tied off a block error. Davis and Kratzenstein on the block the V-hawks would surge to tie up the match again at 16-16 followed by an ace by Davis. 

The V-Hawks would build a quick lead with kills from Alex Kratzenstein and Connors, Davis dominating at the net with multiple kills forcing Tiger errors. Peroz on the serve would help Viterbo in a five point run including a Peroz ace. Finishing off the set Davis and Connors would take the final four kills. 

Davis and J Kratzenstein on a block would keep a strong defense, Amdur continuing to feed assists to Connors and A Kratzenstein, Davis finishing off the set with the final kill to seal the set. 

Volleying for the lead Styrk Myhre, Davis, and Amdur would take turns for kills keeping the set close, though ONU would take the lead mid-set with a series of aces and forced errors by the V-Hawks. 

A Kratzenstein starting set five of hot with back to back kills, before long the Tigers would take control with an eight point run that tVu couldn't recover from. 

Davis led the V-Hawks in kills with 23, Amdur led with 46 assists, and Dugan had 15 digs. Brody McAfee led the Tigers with 16 kills.
