V-Hawks Bested by Crimson Wave

LA CROSSE, Wis. – The Viterbo Men's Volleyball team fell to Calumet College of St. Joseph on Friday evening 3-0 (25-15, 25-15, 25-21). The V-Hawks sink to 4-24 (CCAC 0-8), while the Crimson Wave rise to 7-12 (CCAC 5-5).

Alex Kratzenstein would take the opening kill, shortly followed by Ethan Davis set up by Logan Amdur. The V-Hawks would sneak kills between kills by the Crimson Wave, Styrk Myhre sending one past before Davis would take back to backs. The V-Hawks would trail from an eight point run, taking the next three, Jack Peroz serving up an ace though an error would give Calumet set one.

The Crimson Wave would take the opening six points all on aces, though the V-Hawks would respond with a four point run of their own, Myhre taking back to back kills. Burton Bosan Jr. grabbing an ace followed shortly by Kratzenstein with a kill. In an effort to comeback, Davis would take two kills and Daxton Marschall would take an ace.

Blocking at the net Davis and Myhre would get solo blocks quick in the third, Davis also taking back to back aces. Kratzenstein and Davis would take the next few V-Hawk kills, Myhre also blocking once again. The V-Hawks would let past a seven point run before an error would temporarily stop the lead for the win.

Davis led the V-Hawks with seven kills, Amdur set up 19 assists, and Dugan took 12 digs. The Mustangs were led by Brian Lynch with 19 kills.  

The V-Hawks return to action Saturday, March 29 at Olivet Nazarene for a TriMatch.
