Defenders Overpower V-Hawks

LA CROSSE, Wis. – The Viterbo Men's Volleyball team was struck down Tuesday afternoon 3-0 (25-16, 25-15, 25-15) by Dordt University. The V-Hawks fall to 2-14 (CCAC 0-3), while the Defenders rise to 9-6 (GPAC 3-5).  

Riley Connors took the first two kills for the V-Hawks from Logan Amdur before Roman Rzeszutko would set up Alex Kratzenstein and Jack Peroz for kills. The V-Hawks only down by five, Connors and Styrk Myhre would get the block, Connors continuing with another kill.

Viterbo making a move on the offensive, Myhre would strike down a kill followed by Justin Kratzenstein from Amdur. Late in the set Ethan Davis would get the kill followed by Burton Bosan Jr., Amdur rounding out the set with an ace.

Connors carrying momentum from the first set would take two kills to open the third, Max Dugan than setting up Amdur for the attack and kill. Myhre putting an end to a seven point run before Connors would take the final V-Hawk kill.

Connors led the V-Hawks with 10 kills, Amdur dished 14 assists, and Dugan with nine digs. Andres Guzman led the Defenders with 10 kills.  

The V-Hawks return to action Friday March 7 in Miami Gardens for a matchup with Governors State to kick of spring break play.
