V-Hawks Swept by Eagles
MADISON, Wis. – The Viterbo Men's Volleyball team was swept 3-0 by Edgewood College on Tuesday evening (25-19, 25-21, 25-21). The V-Hawks now sit at 1-8.
The V-Hawks started out the match with a kill set up by Ethan Davis followed by a kill by Alex Kratzenstein tying up the set for the first time. Daxton Marschall on the serve would lead to a three point run with Jack Peroz and Logan Amdur with kills and a block. Davis would claim another kill and an ace though the Eagles would claim set one.
Kratzenstein with the kill from Amdur got the scoring rolling in the second set then Amdur snuck over the attack for the kill shortly after. Midway through the set Peroz would contribute to three back to back blocks assisted by Amdur and Justin Kratzenstein, completed with a pair of kills.
A four point run for the V-Hawks would keep the third set close, followed by another four point run with a kill by Davis coupled with an ace, and a kill by A. Kratzenstein. A. Kratzenstein with one more kill before EC would take the match.
A.Kratzenstein led with 11 kills for the V-Hawks, while Amdur set up 20 assists and eight digs, while Dugan also took eight digs. The Eagles Jack Keesling led with 10 kills.
The V-Hawks return to action Friday February 21 for the first home Tri-Match of the season against Jamestown and Saint Xavier.
