V-Hawks Out Defended at Dordt
SIOUX CENTER, Iowa – The Viterbo Men's Volleyball team fell in three sets to Dordt University on Saturday afternoon (25-22, 25-16, 25-14). The V-Hawks fall to 1-2 on the season while the Defenders rise to 4-1.
Ethan Davis opened the match with the first kill set up by Max Dugan, Burton Bosan Jr. serving up the first ace of the day before Alex Kratzenstein would make the kill. To end a defender six point run Jack Peroz would make the attack. Kratzenstein would send past the final V-Hawk kills of set one.
The V-Hawks volleying for the lead, Logan Amdur setting up for Kratzenstein and Peroz. Amdur sending over an attack for the kill before setting up Rily Connors would be the end of scoring for set two.
Peroz sending past back to back kills put the V-Hawks in a narrow lead, Davis continuing the scoring, though the Defenders would claim the next five. The V-Hawks falling behind would find Kratzenstein at the net with two more kills for the V-Hawks.
Kratzenstein led the V-Hawks with seven kills, while Amdur set up 17 assists and Dugan took eight digs. Cade Schmidt led the Defenders with 13 kills.
The V-Hawks return to action Sunday February 2 at Morningside.
