Kerkman Named CCAC Defender of the Week

CHICAGO, Ill. – The Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference has announced their Men's Volleyball Players of the Week, and Dane Kerkman has been selected as the Defender of the Week. He is joined by Judson's Grant Shipley as the Attacker of the Week, and Roosevelt's Michele Bascape as the Setter of the Week. This is Kerkman's second Defender of the Week accolade this year.

Kerkman helped Viterbo to a 3-1 week, contributing a total of 15 blocks, over 13 sets (1.15 average).  He also had 15 kills and six service aces over the three matches played. The senior middle blocker had no less than four blocks in any one match, topped by his seven in a five-set win over Roosevelt University on Friday.  The next day he had four blocks in a three-set victory opposite St. Ambrose University.

Dane and the V-Hawks return to action on Saturday, March 9 as they host a tri-match featuring Olivet Nazarene University (Ill.) and Dordt University (Iowa).
