By Katie Frohmader, Athletics Communications Intern

LA CROSSE, Wis. – The Viterbo Men's Volleyball team (0-2) was back in action at R.W. Beggs Senior Gymnasium on Tuesday night. The V-Hawks swept the Judson Eagles (1-3), capturing their first win of the season, 25-20, 25-18, and 25-22.

The V-Hawks took the lead in set one after a Brett Thompson (Sr. - West Salem, Wis.) kill on the first point. After a brief tie at four, Dane Kerkman (So. - Racine, Wis.) registered a block and Viterbo kept their lead through the rest of the set. The V-Hawks led most of the second set, but a seven-point run near the end of the set sealed the deal for Viterbo. Judson gave the V-Hawks a run for their money in set three, but a six-kill set by Jacob Nonn (Jr. - Cross Plains, Wis.), including two in the final five points, propelled Viterbo to victory.

Thompson and Nonn collected 12 kills each, leading the team. Thomas Robson (Jr. - Middleton, Wis.) registered 18 digs, while Andrew Lepage (Jr. - Cross Plains, Wis.) led the team with 28 assists.

The Viterbo Men's Volleyball team (1-2) will be back in action on Friday in Milwaukee against Cardinal Stritch (3-0). First serve is scheduled for 7:00 pm. Follow the action on our website or by following us on social media.
