Bio

Montgomery started as Director of Sprints and Hurdles in March of 2021. Prior to coaching at the collegiate level, Montgomery was a volunteer sprints and hurdles coach at Canyon View High School in Cedar City, Utah for the 2015 outdoor season. From 2014-2019 he coached youth in sprints and hurdles.
 
As a collegiate athlete, Montgomery finished as the most decorated male hurdler in Southern Utah University program history. Montgomery’s achievements included: 12 Big Sky All-Conference honors, 4 of them Big Sky gold medals, 4 program records, and 4 trips to the NCAA Division 1 West Preliminary Rounds, double qualifying 2 out of 4 years. In the 2019 indoor and outdoor seasons, he broke all 3 program records he’d previously held with marks of 7.96 in the 60mHH, 14.05 in the 110mHH, and 51.28 in the 400mIH. In addition, he helped lead the men’s team to its only Big Sky Outdoor Track & Field Championship victory.
 
Montgomery earned his Bachelor of Science in Physical Education Teaching and Coaching in 2019 from Southern Utah University. He currently resides in La Crosse.
