
NSAA Announces Outdoor Track All-Conference Recipients
BISMARK, ND – The North Star Athletic Association has officially released its 2024 Outdoor Track and Field recipients following the conference championship meet on May 9-10. The V-Hawks received 13 all-conference awards, one postseason award, one champion of character, and two conference meet records.
Athletes earning All-Conference recognition must be in the top three individually and two relay teams. The conference postseason awards include NSAA Field and Track Athletes-of-the-Meet, NSAA Most Valuable Athlete, and Coach-of-the-Year.
Jalen Anderson earned the NSAA Men's Outdoor Track Athlete-of-the-Meet for earning the most points in track events. He is the first V-Hawk to earn the award. He also earned the Indoor Track Athlete of the Meet earlier this year.
Anderson was All-Conference and the NSAA Champion in the 110-Hurdles (3rd straight conference title), 100-meter dash, 200-meter dash, and the 4x100-meter relay alongside Nathan Schlough, Brandon Ferguson, and Dominic Marken.
Avin Smith was a three-time All-Conference performer, including the 400-meter hurdles, 400-meter dash, and the javelin throw.
Connor Birdsong collected a pair of All-Conference recognitions in the 5,000 and 1,500, as did Colin Adams in the high jump and long jump.
Gabe Holderby earned his second straight conference title in the javelin, while Brayden Bradway earned his first in the pole vault.
Anderson set the new meet record in the 100-meter dash (10.41 seconds) and Bradway set the record in the pole vault, clearing 4.40m (14'5.25").
Ben Olson was named Champion of Character for embodying the NAIA's five core values of integrity, respect, responsibility, sportsmanship and servant leadership both on and off the field.
The V-Hawks travel across town to the UW-La Crosse Qualifier Meet on Thursday.
