
V-Hawks Compete at Phil Esten Challenge
LA CROSSE, Wis. – The Viterbo University Men's Track and Field team competed at the UW-La Crosse Phil Esten challenge on Saturday. The V-Hawks finished eighth place out of 14 teams with 31 points.
Host UWL won the team title with 207 points.
Jalen Anderson led the V-Hawks, collecting a pair of medal victories. He took home first in the 110 meter hurdles with an NAIA "A" Standard time of 14.60 seconds, followed by a bronze finish in the 200, recording a time of 21.91.
Gabe Holderby also earned a podium finish in the Javelin, with a second place throw of 54.94m (180'3").
Other scorers for the V-Hawks included Avin Smith taking sixth in the javelin (43.86m (143.'11")), and eighth in the 110 Hurdles (15.67 seconds), Ben Olson taking seventh in the 400 with a time of 52.46, and Colin Adams taking eighth in the high jump, clearing 6.36m (20'10.5").
The V-Hawks return to action next weekend at the Drake University (Iowa) Relays.
