Anderson Named NSAA Track Athlete of the Week

BISMARK, ND – The North Star Athletic Association (NSAA) has announced the fifth edition of their Outdoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week, and Jalen Anderson of Viterbo University was selected as the Men's Track Athlete of the Week. He won the award alongside the Field Athlete of the Week, Conner Tordsen of Dakota State (S.D.). It is Anderson's first time winning the award this year.

Anderson, a senior from Rockton, Ill., secured a pair of gold medals at the UW-La Crosse Phil Esten Challenge, including hitting NAIA "A" Standard in the 110 meter hurdles, automatically qualifying him for the National Championship Meet, with a time of 14.56, and setting a Viterbo school record of 21.56 in the 200.

"Jalen's performances this weekend are a testament of all the hard work he's put in thus far," said Head Coach Kody Michaels. "We're all excited about where he's at, but know there's still a lot left to achieve before our season ends."

Anderson and the V-Hawks look ahead to two meets this week, the Drake University (Iowa) Relays and the University of Dubuque (Iowa) Relays.
