Moore Hits B Standard, V-Hawks Finish Seventh at Phil Esten Challenge

LA CROSSE, Wis. – The Viterbo University Mens Track and Field team competed at the University of Wisconsin - La Crosse Phil Esten Challenge on Saturday afternoon. The V-Hawks finished seventh out of 18 scoring teams with 45 team points. Host UW-La Crosse claimed the team championship with 166 points.

Jalen Anderson led the V-Hawks with a pair of first place finishes, including a 21.56 in the 200 meter dash, and 14.56 in the 110 meter hurdles, qualifying for the NAIA "A" standard.

Gabe Holderby earned a silver medal in the javelin throw with a toss of 49.52m (162-06).

Justin Moore added two podium finishes, earning third place in both the long jump, with a leap of 7.24m (23-09.00), earning NAIA "B" standard, and third in the high jump, clearing 1.91m (6-03.25). Colin Adams matched his teammates height in the high jump, taking fourth place based on attempts.

The V-Hawks return to action on Wednesday, April 26 at the Drake University (Iowa) Relays, and Thursday, April 27 at the Dubuque University (Iowa) Relays.
