Smith Leads V-Hawks at Winter Open

RIPON, Wis. – The Viterbo University Men's Track and Field Continued their opening weekend at the Ripon Winter Open Saturday.

Avin Smith led the V-Hawks with a first place finish in the 60m hurdles with a personal record of 8.53 seconds. Ben Olson followed suit with fourth place in the 400m and eighth in the shot put, Zach Ritter would finish seventh in the 400 with a time of 55.49.

Freshman Bryant Molamphy claimed third place with a height of 3.95m in the pole vault, and the final competitor for the V-Hawks was Darnell Williams with a fifth and seventh place finish in the 60m at 7.30 and the 200 at 23.99.

The V-Hawks return to action on Saturday, January 18 at the St. Olaf Ole Opener.
