V-Hawks Start Indoor Season in Ripon

RIPON, Wis. – The Viterbo University Men's Track and Field team started their 2023-24 Indoor season at the Ripon College Winter Open on Saturday. The V-Hawks finished 4th out of 11 teams with 47 points. UW-Oshkosh claimed the team title with 279.50 points.

Jalen Anderson led the V-Hawks with two second place finishes, recording a time of 6.89 in the 60-meter dash, setting a new school record, and 22.13 in the 200, qualifying for nationals by beating NAIA "B" Standard. He also ran the fastest time in the 60 meter hurdles prelims, 8.20 and hitting "A" Standard, but did not run in the finals.

Dominic Marken added a silver medal as well in the high jump, recording a mark of (1.90m 6-02.75).

The V-Hawks 4x200 meter relay team also had a second-place finish with a time of 1:36.76.

Brandon Ferguson finished third place in the 60-hurdles, recording a time of 8.94 seconds.

Nathan Schlough took sixth in the 300 with a time of 38.13, and Hunter Pickard was sixth in the triple jump with a mark of 12.09m (39-08.00).

The V-Hawks return to action on Friday, December 8 at the University of Minnesota Ice Breaker Open.
