Viterbo Claims Third Place at NSAA Meet

BOOKINGS, SD – The Viterbo University Men's Track and Field team finished third overall at the North Star Athletic Association (NSAA) Indoor Track and Field Championships on Sunday at the SDSU Sanford Jackrabbit Athletic Complex. The V-Hawks scored 82 points, Dakota State (SD) were the champions with 254 points, and Dickinson State (ND) was second with 140 points.

Jalen Anderson led the V-Hawks on the track, winning the 60 meter hurdles with a time of 8.30, earning second in the 60 meter dash (6.97), and fourth in the 200 (22.35). Darnell Williams also finished fifth in the 60 meter dash (7.10).

The V-Hawks 4x800 meter relay team of Garrett Eick, Bryce Ertman, Andrew Kaja, and Cameron La Mere earned fourth place with a time of 4:46.78.

In the field events, Gregory Jenkins captured a pair of gold medals in the triple jump (13.29m, 43-07.25) and the long jump (6.80m, 22-03.75). Anderson captured another medal in the long jump as well, leaping 6.68m (21-11.00) and Dominic Marken was fifth (6.53m, 21-05.25).

Nicholas Vollmar was the final medal recipient for the V-Hawks, clearing 3.75m (12-03.50), and Jenkins also had a fourth place finish in the high jump (1.96m, 6-05.00).

Anderson and Jenkins return to Brookings March 2-4 for the NAIA Indoor Track and Field Championships.
