V-Hawks Collect Three Gold Medals at UWL
LA CROSSE, Wis. – The Viterbo University Men's Indoor Track team traveled across town for the UW-La Crosse Pat Healy Classic on Saturday afternoon. The V-Hawks finished in third place out of four teams with 54 team points.
Greg Jenkins secured first place in both the long jump, with a leap of 6.90m (22-7.75), and the high jump, clearing 2.05m (6-08.75). Jalen Anderson was the champions in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.16, winning by .14 seconds.
The 4x400-meter relay team of Andrew Kaja, Cameron LaMere, Ben Fluechaus, and Bryce Ertman captured a bronze medal with a time of 3:59.04.
Javon Kunkel was in fourth place in the long jump behind Jenkins, jumping 6.61m (21-08.25), while Dominic Marken was fourth in the high jump, clearing 1.80 (5-10.75).
Kaja also had a solo top five finish, with his time of 2:13.76 in the 800m placing him in fifth place.
The V-Hawks return to action Saturday, January 28 at the UW-Stout Warren Bowlus Open.
