Lopez leads the V-Hawks to Victory

WHITING, Ind- The Viterbo University Men's Soccer team dominated Calumet College of St. Joseph Wednesday evening as they won 13-0.  The V-Hawks rise to 2-4-2 (CCAC 1-1-2) while the Crimson Wave falls to 0-6-0 (CCAC 0-5-0).  

Wasting no time Nicolas Lopez would record the first shot on goal in the 5th minute of the game. Only one minute later he would start the scoring for the V-Hawks taking an early lead. The momentum continued as Joaquin Eichhorn would get on the board in the 7th minute. Lopez and Eichhorn would keep the V-Hawks rolling as they recorded the next three goals. Maxime Lebon and Guillermo Laborda would find the back of the net giving Viterbo a 7-0 lead going into the half. VU would lead Calumet 17-2 in shots during the first half.  

The momentum would continue as the V-Hawks would continue pull away in the lead over CCSJ. Goals by Alexis Rangel, Luis Torres Enriquez, and Santiago Tellez would grow the V-Hawks lead to 10-0 with 25 minutes left in the match. Lopez would continue his scoring as he added 3 more goals in the last 10 minutes, giving him a total of 5 goals on the night.  

Ernesto Ascenzo would record the V-Hawks third shutout of the season, collecting two saves on the night.  

The V-Hawks are back in action on the road Saturday, October 9th at Judson University.
