V-Hawks End Match in a Draw

LA CROSSE, Wis. – The Viterbo University Men's Soccer team took on Holy Cross College on Saturday afternoon, ending in a draw. The V-Hawks now sit at 1-4-2 (CCAC 0-1-2) while the Saints remain 3-5-4 (CCAC 0-1-3).

The Saints would open the match with a goal in the fourth minute. Connor Erdmann would take the first corner kick of the match for the V-Hawks followed by a wide shot three minutes later. In the nineth minute Nicolas Lopez took to the back of the net from Erdmann. Carrying the momentum Alexis Rangel would take another shot on goal in the same minute. Santiago Tellez would round out the half with a pair of corner kicks.

Lopez would take the first shot of the half not finding the net, finding the ball again in the 57^th minute with a header landing wide. Maxime Lebon would look to score in the 79^th minute though the Saints goalkeeper would make the save. Erdmann would take the final shot of the match for VU though unsuccessful to take the lead.

The V-Hawks took 19 shots with four landing on goal, while the Saints took three shots one landing on goal.

The V-Hawks return to the pitch Wednesday, October 9 on the road at Calumet St Joseph.
