Pride Top V-Hawks 2-0

DUBUQUE, Iowa – The Viterbo University Men's Soccer team suffer a loss on the road at Clarke University (Iowa) on Tuesday evening. The V-Hawks fall to 0-2-0m while the Pride rise 2-0-0 on the season.

Ernesto Ascenzo would make the first save of the match in the 2nd minute of the game. After remaining on defense, the V-Hawks took control of the field ending in a shot on goal by Manuel Ruiz Merino with 18:42 on the clock. On a penalty kick Ascenzo would make his second save of the game though the Pride would respond with a goal seconds later in the 34th minute before heading into the half.

Joaquin Eichhorn would take a shot high to begin the second half followed by Ted Holstein with the same result. Once again the Pride would respond with a goal putting the Pride up 2-0. Attempts on goal by Nicolas Lopez, Sebastian Acosta, and Eichhorn wouldn't be enough against the Pride's goalkeeper Keegan Brennan. Between fouls and cards Diego Idrobo's final shot of the game would seal the loss for the V-Hawks.

The V-Hawks took four shots on goal by four different players, Ascenzo would have five saves, while the Pride's Brennan would have four.

The V-Hawks return to action Tuesday, September 3 on the road at Carleton College (Minn.).
