Men's Soccer Travels to Olivet Nazarene for CACC Tournament First Round

LA CROSSE, Wis. – The Viterbo University Men's Soccer team is set to complete in the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference tournament starting Saturday. This is the V-Hawks first season competing in the CCAC, and they qualified as the #8 seed in the tournament.

Viterbo, who finished with a 7-5-6 (4-4-3 CCAC) record, received the eighth seed after recording 15 points in the standings. Eight of the 12 teams in the conference make the tournament, and the higher seed hosts each match of the three-round tournament. The teams are not re-seeded after each round.

The V-Hawks trailed Judson University (Ill.) in the standings by a single point, while edging out Holy Cross College (Ind.) by one point for the final qualifying spot.

VU will travel to #1 Olivet Nazarene University (Ill.) on Saturday evening. The Tigers hold a 10-3-2 record on the year, while going 8-1-2 in conference play. ONU bested the V-Hawks in the final match of the regular season, 1-0, just last weekend. Nico Lopez, who is tied for the lead in the conference with 13 goals, will look to lead the V-Hawks to redemption.
