Eichhorn Scores in 1-1 Draw

 DECORAH, Iowa – The Viterbo University Men's Soccer team took a 1-1 draw at Luther College (Iowa) on Friday night. The V-Hawks now sit at 2-1-3 on the year, while the Knights are now 0-1-2.

The Knights would take the first four shots of the game, and V-Hawk goalie Ernesto Ascenzo would save two of the attempts. Johan Hamnstrom would take the first shot for Viterbo at 13:00, and while VU would only record two more shots in the entire first half, Luther would put another on goal and score a goal, Bryan Islas-Aguirre assisted by Enzo Mitidieri, in the 34^th minute.

The V-Hawks took the first five shots of the second half, but Luther's attempt at 60:00 was the first on goal. Joaquin Eichorn evened he score at 67:44 on an assist by Conner Erdmann, and despite playing down a man, Ascenzo would record one more clutch save to keep the 1-1 tie.

Eichorn led the V-Hawks with four shots, three of them on goal. Ethan Ducklow had three shots for Luther. Ascenzo posted five saves, while Kai Haroldson had two.

The V-Hawks return to the pitch on Saturday, September 16 as they host Lawrence University at 1:00 PM.
