Yao Named Defensive Player of the Week

LA CROSSE, Wis. – Benian Yao, a Junior Defender on the Viterbo University Men's Soccer team, has been named the Continental Athletic Conference (CAC) Defensive Player of the Week, the league announced on Monday. This is his first time winning this award.

Yao, a Waxhaw, NC native, helped anchor a backline that recorded their 12^th shutout of the season in a 2-0 victory at Bellevue (Neb.) on Saturday. Yao also contributed the game-winning goal in the match.

Yao and the V-Hawks have earned a spot in the CAC conference tournament, and will travel to Georgia Gwinnett College for a first round match on Friday, November 11.
