Smith Named CAC Offensive Player of the Week

LA CROSSE, Wis. – Callum Smith, a Graduate student on the Viterbo University Men's Soccer team, has been named the Continental Athletic Conference (CAC) Offensive Player of the Week, the league announced on Monday. This is Smith's first time winning this award.

Smith, a Mid Calder, Scotland native, was a huge part of Viterbo's offense as the V-Hawks claimed two blowout wins in Crown Point Ind. this weekend. On Saturday, in an 11-0 win over Finlandia University (Mich), Smith had his first career hat trick, and added two assists to go with it. He continued his offensive hot streak on Sunday, putting in two more goals in a 9-0 victory over Campbellsville-Harrodsburg (Ky.).

"Congratulations to Callum on a very well deserved award," said Head Coach Luke Dunn. "He burst into form this weekend and had a huge impact in front of goal, scoring 5 and assisting two others. As a team, our finishing was as a good at it has been all season this weekend, and Callum was the prime example of that for us. Great job by Callum and the team as a whole!"

Smith and the V-Hawks to Bellevue (Neb.) on Saturday for their regular season game of the year.
