LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - The Viterbo University men's soccer team traveled to Georgia for the A.I.I Men's Soccer Conference Tournament on Friday afternoon. The V-Hawks lost to Bellevue 1-2 in overtime.
The Bruins got the lead on the V-Hawks in the 52nd minute. Viterbo would answer in the 76th minute on a goal by Flabio Olmos (SO/Byron, Minn.), assisted by Jacob Battista (FR/Melbourne, Australia). Neither team would score for the remainder of regulation. The game-winning goal came in the 93rd minute on a header off a crossing pass by Bellevue.
The Bruins were able to put more pressure on the Viterbo defense, outshooting the V-Hawks 20-4. Ernesto Ascenzo (FR/Lima, Peru) was solid in goal for the V-Hawks, tallying 13 saves throughout the game.
The Viterbo University men's soccer team capped off their impressive 10-2 season by making the A.I.I conference tournament for the first time in program history. Congratulations on a successful season!
