
V-Hawks Take First
GALENA, Ill- The Viterbo Men's Golf team competed at the Clark Fall Invite located at Eagle Ridge South Course for their first event of the season. The V-Hawks had two teams compete in the meet, with the first team taking home 1st place with a total score of 310. This was three strokes ahead of Iowa Central who went home with 2nd place. The second team for Viterbo took 8th place with a total score of 351, just one stroke behind Southwestern Technical College.
Justin Kaczynski was the top golfer for both the V-Hawks and at the tournament bringing in a total score of 72 for 1st place. Ben Biskupski was only three strokes behind his teammate, tying for 2nd place with a total score of 75. Keeping it close, Ethan Thomas had a total score of 80 which resulted in a tie for 13th. Tying for 21stplace, Alex Samolinski came in with a total score of 83. Aaron Mork was the fifth golf for the first Viterbo team, and he brought in a total score of 85 which tied him for 25th place.
Trevor Hinz led the second Viterbo team, tying with his teammates and others for 25th with a total score of 85. Steffen Larson followed behind with a total score of 87, tying him for 30th place. Kevin Ross kept it close between teammates with a total score of 88, which placed him 32nd. Tying for 34th, Jackson Schuh brought in a total score of 91. Tyler Arenz was the fifth golfer for the second team of Viterbo, and he placed 38th with a total score of 95.
The V-Hawks will return to action for the Battle of Waterloo two-day tournament on Friday, September 13th at Gates Park in Waterloo, Iowa.
