V-Hawks Compete at Midwest Collegiate Championships

WAUWATOSA, Wis. – The Viterbo University Men's Bowling team competed at the Midwest Collegiate Championships this past weekend. The V-Hawks finished 39 out of 53 teams with a total of 7434 pins, 4579 coming from team scoring, while 2855 came from the baker games.

Savannah College of Art and Design (GA) took first place with 8846 pins, 526 team and 3585 baker. Auston Grammar from Webber Internation University took down the highest total of pins at 1180 with an average of 236 pins.

Anthony Pope was the V-Hawks top performer, with a total of 999 pins over five games for an average of 199.8. He placed 74th out of 398 bowlers.

Freshman, Rylan Schneider would be the next V-Hawk with a 85th place finish averaging 197 pins per game (985 total). Austin Calmes averaging 178.2 pins (891 total) took home the 149th place finish, followed by Nathan Arais averaging 170.6 (853 total) in 155th. Over four games Mason Barsness knocked down 721 pins, while Seth Bailey would be the final bowler for the V-Hawks, bowling one game.

The V-Hawks return to action October 12-13 at the GLBC Conference Meet 1.
