V-Hawks Start Season at Midwest Collegiate Championships

WAUWATOSA, Wis. - The Viterbo University Men's Bowling Team started their 2023-24 season with the first at the Midwest Collegiate Championships at Bowlero in Wauwatosa, Wis. last weekend. This is the first of six consecutive tournaments to begin the season.

The men finished 32nd out of 47 teams with a total pin fall of 8445. On Saturday, Anthony Pope led the men with a 199 average, with a high game of 235. Behind him was Nathan Arias, with a 188 average and a high game of 207. Overall, the men's team averaged 184 over the day, finishing 31st.

The tournament continued on Sunday with baker play. The men bowled 16 baker games, averaging 186. Leading the Men was Austin Calmes with a 95% fill percentage, followed closely by Anthony Pope and Mikey Voge, with 81%. The V-Hawk men did not qualify for bracket play.

Their next tournament is Great Lakes Bowling Conference (GLBC) Meet 1 in Ashwaubenon, Wisconsin. This tournament is the first of four conference tournament throughout the season.
