Bio

The 2023-24 Viterbo University men’s basketball season will be David Mlachnik’s third season on Coach Wagner’s staff. Mlachnik grew up in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where he attended West Allis Central High School. Mlachnik served as the assistant men’s basketball coach at Modest Junior College (CA) in the 2021-22 season, with responsibilities assisting in scouting, player development, and recruiting. Mlachnik was previously a trainer and assistant coach for 24:UP, an AAU program in Milwaukee powered by the Pat Connaughton Foundation. Mlachnik spent the 2022-23 season as an assistant men’s basketball coach and AP Psychology teacher at West Allis Central High School.  

Mlachnik earned a bachelor’s degree in social studies education and minors in psychology education and history from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, and in December of 2023, he graduated from Capella University with a Master of Science in Psychology with an emphasis in Industrial/Organizational Psychology at Capella University.

In addition to coaching, Mlachnik assists with scouting, player development, and serves as the recruiting coordinator for the V-Hawks basketball program.
