
Bamke Earns CoSIDA Academic All-District Honor

GREENWOOD, Ind. – On Thursday morning, the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) announced the Academic All-District Men's Basketball Team and for the second straight year, Viterbo University's Jake Bamke (SR/Hortonville, Wis.) was recognized, earning a spot on the College Division District 3 First Team. Bamke is now eligible for the Capital One Academic All-American Team which will be released later this month.
The goal of the Academic All-District teams is to recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performance on the court and in the classroom. To be eligible, a student-athlete must maintain at least a 3.30 cumulative grade point average as a starter or important reserve, playing in at least 50 percent of their team's contests.
Bamke has excelled in both the classroom and on the court. The senior has maintained a 3.88 grade point average in his marketing major and has earned a spot on the Academic All-Conference team each year.
Starting all 26 games, Bamke leads the team with 13.9 points and 5.7 rebounds per game. He is just 48 points away from cracking the V-Hawks top-10 all-time scorers. Bamke has reached double digits in 20 of 26 games this season including tallying at least 20 points in four contests.
Bamke and the V-Hawks will wrap up the regular season on the road with three remaining contests. Viterbo will next take on Mayville State on February 10 at 7:30 p.m. with live coverage available on www.viterboathletics.com.
