Buschman Named MCC Player of the Week

La Crosse, Wis. - Scott Buschman (Sr. - Naperville, Ill.)was named Midwest Collegiate Conference player of the week, announced today by MCC sports information director Adam Glatczak.

The award comes at a great time for Buschman as he has been on a tear lately for the V-Hawks. Since the holiday break, Buschman has been averaging 20.2 points per game and 13.7 rebounds per game. Last week alone, Bushman led the V-Hawks to two wins by averaging 21 points and 16 rebounds. The V-Hawks went 2-0 on the week as Buschman scored 27 points and grabbed 18 rebounds against Waldorf College. He followed that performance up with a 15 point, 14 rebound game against Iowa Wesleyan College on Saturday.

For the season, Buschman is averaging a MCC best 20 ppg and 11.1 rpg. He has recorded an NAIA best 13 double-doubles on the season and now has 52 double-doubles in his V-Hawk career. Buschamn continues to put his name in the record books as he became the first player in school history to score 1,000 points and record 1,000 rebounds in his career. He also sits 3rd on the V-Hawks all-time scoring list with 1,756 points.

While Buschman has had plenty of individual success this season he his equally as excited as the V-Hawks have found team success over the last couple of weeks. With the two wins last week, the V-Hawks improved to 4-2 in MCC play and 6-11 overall. The V-Hawks will be in action next when they host Clarke College on Wednesday night at 7:30 pm.
