V-Hawks Overcome Slow Start to Down Llamas

LA CROSSE, Wis. – The Viterbo University Esports team claimed a 2-1 win in Valorant over Neumont College of Computer Science (Utah) on Sunday. The V-Hawks Valorant team is now 2-1 on the season.

In the first game of the day on Icebox, the Llamas claimed a 13-8 win despite 21 kills from Draven Williamson. Mikey Voge added 19 kills with three plants, and Alex Boardman had a game-high six plants to go with his 17 kills.

The V-Hawks came back in the second match, played on Lotus, with a vengeance, absolutely dominating the Llamas by starting off up 11 rounds to zero. Viterbo would eventually win 13-3, led by Brendan McDonald's 21 kills , and Voge's all around game of 15 kills, seven assists, three plants, and two defuses.

The final match, played on Pearl, was much closer, with the V-Hawks leading by just one late, 9-8. Then the V-Hawks would take over, winning the final five rounds to claim the 13-8 victory. McDonald posted another 24 kills and six assists, while Justin Kratzenstein added 21 of his own.

The V-Hawks return to action on Wednesday, March 1 against Keyano College (Alberta, Canada).
