Clark Hired as Head Esports Coach

LA CROSSE, Wis. – The Viterbo University Esports team has officially announced Sam Clark as their new Head Coach. Clark will lead the V-Hawks through their inaugural season in 2022-23.

"I am passionate about Esports and Gaming and excited to help build a community around it here at Viterbo," said Clark. "As a competitive person I am dedicated to building the best Esport rosters to compete at the highest level."

Clark, a Reedsburg, Wis. native, comes to Viterbo from Western Technical College in La Crosse, Wis., where he was an Assistant Esports Coach, as well as the Esports Club President when he was earning his Digital Media Productions degree from Western. He also holds a Network and Security Specialist degree from Madison College.

"We're excited to have Sam on board," said Viterbo Athletics Director Barry Fried. "His desire to be the leader of our Esports program was very evident when we interviewed him. I know he will relate well to our student-athletes and will work hard to build a very competitive program."

Clark began his duties in early November.
