Bio

Luz enters her sixth year as Viterbo's head Dance coach. She has been the head coach since the program's inception in 2018-19.

In 2022, the V-Hawks made their first Competitive Dance National Championship, ended with their highest final ranking (seventh), and had their first three All-Americans in program history. 

Before coming to Viterbo, Luz worked as a Support Specialist for More Than Just Great Dancing in La Crosse from May 2017 to February 2018. Luz has been an instructor at Jan’s School of Dance since 2013 and at Misty’s Dance Unlimited since last fall.

Luz graduated from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse with a Bachelor’s Degree in Communication Studies; Organizational and Professional Emphasis.

While in college, she was a dancer and choreographer on the LC Hip Hop Team. Upon graduation, Luz joined the La Crosse Showtime’s Show Stoppers Dance Team in their inaugural 2017-2018 season.

Luz has also spent two seasons coaching at the high school level. As an assistant coach for the Houston High School Varsity Dance Team last season, she helped lead the team to the state tournament for the first time since 2014. She also assistant coached for her alma mater Randolph High School in 2014-2015.

Luz resides in La Crescent, Minnesota with her husband, Viterbo Alumni, Colin Luz.
