V-Hawks Begin Competitive Season with 1st Place Finish

ASHWAUBENON, Wis. – The Viterbo University Competitive Dance team began their 2023-24 season by winning the Ashwaubenon Dance Invitational on Sunday. The V-Hawks scored 323.9 points for the team title.

The V-Hawks raw score was high enough that they were able to hold onto 1^st place despite a 2.5-point violation, beating UW-Milwaukee's second place score of 323.4. Other notable opponents in the event included UW-La Crosse (3^rd Place) UW-Madison (two teams, 4^th and 6^th), and UW-Green Bay (7^th).

"This is a goal that we've been working to achieve the past three years!" said Head Coach Anna Luz. "Competing against NCAA D1 teams is a great challenge. It feels great to get the win over eight other strong dance teams."

The V-Hawks return to action on Saturday, December 9 at the UW-Eau Claire Invitational.
