V-Hawks Capture First Place at Dordt
SIOUX CENTER, Iowa – The Viterbo University Dance team competed at the Dordt University Dance Invitational on Saturday, and captured a first place out of eight teams.
The V-Hawks scored 85.8 despite three points of deductions, and edged out Morningside University (Iowa) with 84.93 points for first place.
"We're excited to have come out on top of Morningside again this weekend, but they're trailing close behind," said Head Coach Anna Luz. "We had a raw score of 88.8, but ended up with 3.0 deductions for a final score of 85.8. This is the highest score of our season, but we're hoping to top it next weekend at Regionals. Our focus for this coming week is to finalize our uniformity and drill our skills in preparation for our most important competition."
The Regional National Qualifying event will take place Friday, February 24.
